From Rikon to Nashville

The former "Rykon" spinning mill in the town with almost the same name Rikon became a globally known kitchen brand. The story begins in 1819, when the company was still a textile factory. The first important turning point was in 1927, when company owner and engineer Heinrich Kuhn developed the "DURO", the first cookware suitable for electric stoves. In 1949, the most important milestone in the company’s success followed: the launch of the "DUROMATIC" pressure cooker, which is still part of the basic equipment in many households today. The company achieved success after success and expanded to England, Spain, where the "DUROMATIC" is used particularly often because of the typical Spanish dishes and stews, and finally to the USA in 1988.

Swiss tradition combined with innovative design

The "Kuhn Rikon" products exude "Swissness" and modernness. The company combines decades of experience and engineering knowledge with modern technologies to create new and user-friendly kitchen solutions. The selection of products ranges from versatile pots and pans sets to sharp cutting utensils and storage containers, all in an elegant and stylish design. Since 2005, the company even runs its own design department, which has already been honored with numerous design awards for its ideas. Even the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York sells "Kuhn Rikon" products in its own shop.
