Mountain slopes and common land might not be suitable for intensive arable farming – but they are perfect for the organic cultivation of native herbs and spices. This was the idea behind a company which opened more than thirty years ago in Simmental and now has 65 employees. Dedicated partners from the region as well as the mineral-rich soil and intense Alpine sunshine ensure particularly intense flavors and 100% natural production.
The spice of life
Do you like to ring in the spring with your barbecue? If so, make sure you have some herbs from "Swiss Alpine Herbs" with you. For example, the versatile organic Grill Mix is suitable for barbecued meat, vegetable kebabs and anything else you can cook over hot charcoal. For slightly spicier dishes, the organic Alpine Chili Mix is worth a try. A great way to refresh yourself is with a soothing "Zyt rot", which is a drink made from rose balm – and perfect on hot days. And if the temperatures drop again: What could be better than a raclette with the right herb seasoning? The combination of garlic, paprika and caraway, refined with a hint of thyme, goes especially well with Alpine cheese. And then there are the various teas made from mint and lemon balm, rosehip and sea buckthorn, which are ideal thirst quenchers.
