Hotels in Tyrol

Our state of the art accommodation options in beautiful Tyrol could hardly be more different. All we’ll say at this point: a feel-good hotel with reference to the Indian subcontinent, a sustainable luxury boutique hotel, a hunting hotel with own hunting ground, a medical miracle wellness resort and a chalet for the richly pampered. Experience a lot and get a good night’s sleep.

DasPosthotel, Zell

The days when eco-friendly and beauty contradicted each other are long gone. Design that respects nature and ecologically-driven management meet the coolness of an innovative boutique hotel from the Amex hotel program. Platinum Card® members enjoy many benefits. The view of the Ziller Valley also leaves a lasting impression.

Ayurveda Resort Sonnhof, Thiersee

The ideal place for fans of far-eastern relaxation methods for the mind, body and soul. The website points out that even the location – a high plateau in the Thiersee Valley – is one of the most energetic places in Tyrol. Its proven areas of expertise are detox, balance and energy. With numerous top reviews, our favorite among the exotic options.

Relais & Chateaux Spa-Hotel Jagdhof, Neustift

Incredibly chic family-run mountain hotel that caters to all requirements without compromising on character. Unlike hotels with similar names, the game here is actually hunted on the hotel’s own grounds and served for dinner, if ordered. There is an extensive spa with several pools, steam rooms and saunas, and even a private spa to hire.

Restaurants in Tyrol

Don’t let the number of celebrities distract you while eating. Choose between toques and stars. Experience being thoroughly indulged in a tax office and enjoy a nice evening with relatives. These are our top takes from the world of Tyrolean culinary delights. Definitely a lovely end to the day after a hike or a long day in the spa.

Stanglwirt, Kitzbühl

The ultimate celebrity restaurant and a must for anyone who wants to see and be seen. Naturally, constantly fully booked. By the way, Kitzbühel and St. Anton compete like Zermatt and St. Moritz. The menu is expensive and typical for the country. The inn – currently Sommelier of the Year 2024 – has a tradition dating back 400 years.

Schwarzer Adler, Kitzbühl

Johannes Nuding grew up in Tyrol. From here, he took the world by storm with his meteoric rise as a chef. Restaurants in Paris, Moscow and London benefited from his talent. Mentors like Robuchon and Gagnaire believed in him. Today, he is the only Austrian who currently holds three Michelin stars.

Gründlers Gourmetstüberl, Achenkirch

Relatives are at work together again here. Gründler senior and junior create the best of cuisine from Karwendel here, using regional ingredients of course. The presentation is just as popular as the sublime taste. Alexander Gründler (son) is also a trained cheese sommelier. And no, we didn’t know there was such a thing either.

Attractions in Tyrol

If you do decide to leave your jacuzzi and comfortable hotel, there’s plenty to see and do: including an Olympic city, a former ski jump, a panoramic road as well as the spectacular staging of a global company that hardly anyone would expect to find in a tranquil village in Tyrol. We hope you enjoy an eventful day collecting beautiful memories.

Bergisel ski jump, Innsbruck

No, you’re not on Mars. It just looks like it. The former Olympic ski jump with its panoramic restaurant and viewing platform looks like a spaceship from afar. The masterpiece was designed by none other than star architect Zaha Hadid. The breathtaking view extends as far as Innsbruck. The trip up by lift is not very sporty.

americanexpress-magazin-tirol-sehenswertes-swarovski-kristallwelten-stagestatic

Swarovski Kristallwelten, Wattens

Swarovski Crystal Worlds are a spectacular tribute to the jewels from the global and family business of the same name, which has its origin and headquarters here. A sparkling giant, fairytale chambers of wonders, impressive art installations and a carousel with 15 million Swarovski crystals are worth a visit.

Grossglockner High Alpine Road

The Grossglockner High Alpine Road runs along the Austrian Alpine peaks for 48 kilometers, which can be a really long way in the mountains. If you want to get close to the black mountain, as the country’s landmark is called, you should not miss this tour. Please note: The high alpine road is closed during the winter months.

Innsbruck

Innsbruck is a gem surrounded by mountains. The host of two Olympic Games has much to offer: a magnificent Baroque imperial palace, a golden roof and a Gothic tower house. Take a break during your sightseeing and indulge in a few "kiachls", small fried flat pastries, which can be enjoyed as savory or sweet treats.

Hohe Tauern National Park

In the largest national park in Central Europe, three quarters of the total area is under strict protection. In addition to the obvious, on closer inspection you will discover an extraordinary wealth of species, such as golden eagles and ibex. Crystal-clear mountain lakes, glacial streams and waterfalls are other good reasons to visit here.
